Welcome to Aberystwyth Skeptics in the Pub. Skeptics in the Pub was founded in London by Dr Scott Campbell in 1999. The aim was to provide a place for rationalists to meet and hear about bizarre and extraordinary claims and to look at these scientifically. Doing this with beer seems to work. The first Skeptics in the Pub group in Wales was founded in Cardiff by Alice Sheppard and Dean Burnett.

Monthly talks and challenging discussions for people interested in science, critical thinking, evidence-based policy, or just life-long learning. We promote an evidence-based approach and critical thinking in the areas of policy, media, and legal reform. We have packed and lively meetings once or twice a month in a big pub in Westminster, just by St James Tube station. Less than a year old, we already have attracted attention from the BBC, the British Medical Journal, and the blogosphere. Our launch was covered by BBC Newsnight.
